DARIAN STEWART

Darian Stewart was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, where he attended Lee High School and was selected as the Huntsville Times Super All-Metro Most Valuable Player as a senior and was named finalist for the 5A Back of the Year Award. He also was an all-city and all-metro honoree in 2004 and 2005 and all-state in football and basketball.

 

In 2006, Darian committed to the University of South Carolina (USC) and played under the tutelage of Coach Spurrier. He immediately saw action as a true freshman in 12 out of 13 games and in 2009 he was invited to play in the East-West Shrine game.

 

After excelling at USC , Darian declared for the NFL draft in 2010 and signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams, he played with the St. Louis Rams for four seasons amassing a reputation as a hard-hitter and smart, instinctive safety.

 

Darian signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2014 and participated in his first NFL playoff game, where he intercepted Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the 4th quarter. In 2015, Darian signed a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos; in his first game with the Broncos he intercepted what would have been the game winning touchdown for his former team, the Baltimore Ravens.  In the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots, Darian had 3 tackles, 1 pass defended and 1 interception helping the Broncos to advance to Super Bowl 50.  During Super Bowl 50, Darian had a tremendous game with 3 tackles, 1 sack, 2 passes defended and a forced fumble, playing a pivotal role in winning the world championship against the Carolina Panthers.

 

In 2014, Darian started his non-profit foundation Stewart Standouts Foundation (SSF) Inc. His goal is to provide underprivileged youth with opportunities to explore various career goals regardless of their economic standings. Each year SSF Inc. host a free Football Clinic in Darian’s hometown of Huntsville, AL with over 150 youth in attendance. During the off-season, he lives in the Charlotte, NC area with his wife Whitley and daughter Hayden.
